Beyond Screens & Standups: A Day We Became a Team

Silicus UI/UX Team Outing at Adventure Plus Resort, Bhor (Pune)

Some days are not about deliverables, deadlines, or design critiques.
Some days are about stepping out of the comfort of screens and stepping into shared experiences.

Our Silicus UI/UX team outing at Adventure Plus Resort, Bhor, was exactly that kind of day.

More than a trip.
More than an offsite.
It was a reminder that a team is built not just in meeting rooms, but in moments of trust, laughter, challenge, and togetherness.

Morning Vibes: Conversations Over Breakfast

The day began early, with fresh air, green views, and a hearty breakfast that instantly set the tone. You could feel it—something was different.
People who usually discuss wireframes were now talking about “Which activity first?”
Coffee turned into laughter, and the day gently nudged us out of our professional roles into something more human.

By the time lunch plans were casually mentioned, we already knew—this was going to be a full, memorable day.

Taking the Leap: Air & Height Thrills

Nothing bonds people faster than shared fear… and shared courage.

  • Zip-lining & Valley Crossing pushed many of us out of our comfort zones. One step forward, a deep breath, and suddenly you’re flying—trusting the harness, the rope, and the people cheering below.
  • High rope courses demanded balance, patience, and encouragement. You could see teammates transform into cheerleaders, motivators, and silent supporters.
  • Rock climbing became less about reaching the top and more about not giving up halfway.

These moments mirrored real work-life lessons—sometimes you just need someone to say, “You’ve got this.”

Making a Splash: Water Sports & Rain Dance

After the heights came pure joy.

  • Kayaking and paddle boating slowed things down, allowing conversations to flow as naturally as the water.
  • Water ball games brought out the child in everyone.
  • And then came the highlight—the rain dance with a DJ. No hierarchy. No roles. Just music, rain, laughter, and unfiltered fun.

It was chaotic. It was loud. It was perfect.

Grit on Ground: Land Challenges

Back on land, the energy shifted from fun to focused.

  • Army obstacle courses and commando nets tested endurance and teamwork.
  • Archery and air rifle shooting demanded calm, precision, and focus—skills every designer deeply understands.

These activities reminded us that success often lies in balance—between strength and strategy, speed and accuracy.

Playtime, the Classic Way: Sports & Games

From cricket and football to volleyball and badminton, the fields came alive.
And for those who preferred quieter battles, carrom and chess became arenas of intense (and friendly) rivalry.

What stood out wasn’t who won—it was how everyone played. Together.

Food, Conversations & Evening Calm

Lunch was a much-needed pause. Plates full, conversations richer.
Stories from the morning were replayed with dramatic exaggeration and shared laughter.

As the sun softened, evening tea and snacks wrapped up the day beautifully. Tired bodies. Happy faces. Content minds.

More Than Colleagues, Truly a Team

This outing reinforced something powerful:

A team is not just people working on the same product.
A team is people who trust each other on a rope, cheer each other from the ground, laugh in the rain, and sit together when the day slows down.

At Silicus, we design experiences for users.
Days like this remind us that great experiences begin within the team itself.

Final Thought

If someone asks what made this outing special, the answer is simple:
We didn’t just take a break from work—we strengthened the bond that makes our work meaningful.

Have you ever experienced a team moment that stayed with you long after the trip ended?
Those are the ones that truly matter.
